The Sub- Saharan Africa Tuition Fee Waiver is an exciting fee waiver discount available to eligible applicants who are nationals of and live in the Sub-Saharan Africa region who are applying to study with us at the University of Sunderland.
There are a limited number of the Sub- Saharan Africa Tuition Fee Waiver available and are offered on a first come, first served basis, or allocated to an agent and remain at the discretion of the University.
Sub-Saharan Africa Tuition Fee Waiver for University of Sunderland students
Accommodation Allowance – £1,500 fee waiver is awarded to eligible chosen international students from Sub-Saharan Africa. As we have a limited number of scholarships to give to applicants, the accommodation allowance is subject to availability.
Who is eligible?
In order to be eligible for the Sub-Saharan Africa Tuition Fee Waiver, applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Must be making an application from and be nationals of and live in Sub-Saharan Africa
• Applicants must be classified as an international student for fee purposes.
• Must meet all academic and English conditions on application.
• Must apply for either a full time undergraduate or postgraduate programme starting in September/October 2024, or January/February 2025 at our Sunderland Campus.
• Firmly accept your offer. You can do this by logging onto your EVision account.
If you do not meet the above criteria by 26th July 2024 for courses commencing in Semester 1 and 29th November 2024 for courses commencing in Semester 2, you will be removed from the Sub-Saharan Africa Tuition Fee Waiver list and the fee waiver will be made available to another student.
Please note: The Sub-Saharan Africa Tuition Fee Waiver is not guaranteed, and you must be able to fund your programme and associated costs without receipt of the Sub-Saharan Africa Tuition Fee Waiver. This is allocated by the international office, with no separate application required for the fee waiver. Upon offer of a place, if you have been awarded the Sub-Saharan Africa Tuition Fee Waiver, you will be sent an email from the Africa team at the international office and an updated offer letter from the University informing you of the award.
Terms and Conditions
1. Applicants must meet the UKVI maintenance requirements.
2. The University makes the final decision on the recipient of the Sub-Saharan Africa Tuition Fee Waiver.
3. In the event that a student does not register on their programme by the required date or defers their admission to a later intake, they will no longer be eligible for the Sub-Saharan Africa Tuition Fee Waiver.
4 For the avoidance of doubt all students are subject to the University standard terms and conditions which will be highlighted to you on a number of occasions throughout the application and enrolment process. 5. The Sub-Saharan Africa Tuition Fee Waiver is not transferable.
6. The applicant is responsible for ensuring that the discount is reflected in the offer letter and subsequently the CAS letter. The University is not responsible for issuing a refund for the amount of the Sub-Saharan Africa Tuition Fee Waiver, if the discount is not reflected in the offer letter and/or CAS letter.

These terms and conditions will be read in conjunction with and in addition to the University standard terms and conditions of enrolment which, in the event of a conflict between these terms and conditions and the University standard terms and conditions, it will be the University standard terms and conditions which apply.
The University’s decision as to awarding the Scholarship is final on the application of these terms and conditions and the eligibility criteria. The University will not be deemed to be in breach of any legal or contractual obligations due to changes to eligibility criteria beyond the reasonable control of the University.
